1. Which is the best type of carbide runner?
The most expensive runner is not the best option. A runner providing too good a grip may ruin the handling of a snowmobile with a low profile track. The Totaltek "Sport", "Touring" and "Utility" runners are intended for relaxed excursions and work use. The best selling "Racing" type is best suited for fast driving and has a good compromise between handling and required steering power. "SnoCross" runners are best used in competitions or riding fast on snowmobile routes. "eXtreme" runners are recommended for those who want extremely accurate steering or for those who have installed their snowmobiles with a high profile track.

2. Why don’t the Totaltek runners have wear pads?
There are two reasons why we manufacture runners from the extremely durable chrome-molybdenum steel. The first is due to its excellent durability, enabling us to avoid having to use wear pads to protect the basic material from quick wearing. The other reason for using strong steel is its shock resistance. Runners manufactured from softer steel will bend when hitting rock, but the Totaltek runners will remain straight.

3. Which way do you turn the WP nuts?
The WP shock absorber nuts operate “the wrong way around”. When turning the nut clockwise as far as it will go, the setting is at the slackest setting "1". When turning anti-clockwise from this position 6 clicks, the setting is the tightest "7".

4. Are enduro adjusted shock absorbers suitable for using on snowmobile routes?
For normal snowmobile route driving, we suggest the "Sport" setting shock absorbers, but if the driver weighs over 95 kg or for extreme driving, the "Enduro" setting is the better alternative.

5. How often do WP shock absorbers need to be serviced?
The need for service depends a great deal on the driving style and how demanding the route is. For normal snowmobile route driving, the ski shock absorbers should be serviced every 4000 km and the chassis shock absorbers every 2000 km. In enduro style driving, the shock absorbers are put through a lot and it would be advisable to service them twice as often.

6. How long is the warranty for WP shock absorbers?
Snowmobile shock absorbers carry a two-year warranty for material and manufacturing faults. This warranty is valid if the shock absorbers are serviced at least once a year at any certified WP Suspension service company. The warranty is not valid for shock absorbers used in competitions.
